A multidimensional, iconic pop and incredibly powerful show, 2054 by Dua Lipa was the first post-pandemic streaming concert we will all struggle to forget. At 9.30 pm, dressed in white, sexy, luminous and with a magical aura, Dua Lipa, surrounded by her dancers, opened 2054 to the rhythm of Future Nostalgia, the single that gives the name to the album now at the top of the world charts. In the homes of those who chose to participate in the event, everyone let themselves be carried away by the charm of the singer who continued the concert, beautiful and bright, with an unreleased version of Levitating and Pretty Please.
The now iconic notes announced the next single in the lineup and the incredible change of dress by Dua Lipa who, in a tight bodysuit and with a spatial charm, brought Break My Heart to the stage. Joining this unprecedented and incredible show were the artists who took part in the making of the album such as Angele, Bad Bunny, Elthon John, FKA Twigs, J Balvin, but also Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus and Tainy. The sets built specifically for the show made up of surreal TV shows, roller disco, mirror balls, dance halls and fitting rooms like a true diva serve as a backdrop to the memorable performances.
The star Dua Lipa not only leaves everyone who had never heard her sing live with her mouth open, but shows off her incredible skills as a performer by launching into a moment of acrobatic lap dance to catapult into what looks like a bar of a night club for her psychedelic version of Physical accompanied by The Blessed Madonna, the one who remixed the album entirely. What followed is a mix of worlds, styles and colors: the gamers’ mood in the New Rules exhibition alternates with the Spanish one of Un Dia, and then moves on to a huge and comfortable sofa where Miley is waiting for her. Cyrus for their version of Prisoner. At this point it seemed that Dua Lipa had already given us all the emotions she could be capable of but no! The singer wanted to show everyone the reason for her 6 nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards, with what were undoubtedly the most exciting moments of the evening: the performance of One Kiss with the special guest Kylie Minogue behind the console followed by a wonderful Sir Elthon John performing Rocket Man on the piano. Lightnings, glitter and adrenaline herald the ending with Don’t Start Now followed by a group hug that, in these pandemic moments, made everyone melt a little the heart. The show ends and leaves strong emotions in everyone, together with the belief that the great little British pop-icon has changed the concept of concert forever. BRAVA!
