Behind The Row: Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen’s style evolution

olsen_copertinaThis Monday the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) announced the 2015 nominees and honorees of its annual fashion awards. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen ran for two different awards with their brand, The Row: the first, in which they triumphed last year, as Accessory Designer of the Year, and the second, a great achievement, as Womenswear Designer of the Year.

The Row is celebrating, this year, its first decade and with its clean and minimal style the brand is dictating the rules of what should be in your wardrobe: conceptual designed garments that reflect the twins philosophy: less is more (unfortunately, not economically speaking!). It hasn’t always been like this: in the beginning the Olsen twins were well-known (and very criticized) for their eccentric outfits, filled of details. In the gallery below we walked-through their style and the evolution it had during these years: do you remember them?
