TBS MEETS…THE BIG BAG CLUB

“Size does matter, that’s all!” is Virginia’s motto, the face behind the Instagram page The Big Bag Club: the art and design account that is making the insta addicted from all over the world fall in love. Just like its name suggests, The Big Bag Club thanks to a fresh combination between fashion and art, chose to make bags the real (big) protagonists of some of the coolest Instagram shots. Deep down you know, if there’s a passion that every fashion victim has in common, that’s the one for the bags and Virginia made of it a super coloured and cool reality, literally giving the bags the space they deserve. Do you want to know her better? Here’s our interview to The Big Bag Club

TBS: Hello Virginia, how would you introduce yourself?

THE BIG BAG CLUB: Hello, my name is Virginia, I’m 22 years old and I’m the mum of The Big Bag Club. I was born and raised near Turin, in an area that is famous for its metallurgical industries, a place that doesn’t give space to who, like me, has always been charmed by the glittering lights of the city. That’s why as soon as I finished high school, I decided to move to Milan to find my place to be. The city has immediately opened its arms to me. Milan is lively, ever-changing and full of things to do and be discovered.

TBS: How did you translate your design studies in a successful Instagram page?

THE BIG BAG CLUB: Actually, I’ve never studied design! Pictures and photography have been one of my biggest passions since I was a child. I was born in a small town, in a colourful and stimulating place. My mum is an illustrator and I’ve learned from her how to use graphics and design programs. I dedicated my studies to marketing and communication, but I never gave up with my passion for graphic and photography. I worked in a communication agency as a graphic during the University years and that’s where I had The Big Bag club idea. I wanted to create a digital portfolio to collect all the projects I worked on until then and add little by little the ones that I would have done in the future, but then big bags took over.

TBS: Your account is called “The Big Bag Club”? Why a focus on the bags?

THE BIG BAG CLUB: I’m a big fan of accessories. I believe they’re the real protagonists of every look, because they give personality to a woman. I love above all the super coloured bags with unconventional shapes. And then I have to say that luck has been supportive with me! This is the era in which giant bags populate the web. It’s funny t see how “my bags” blend perfectly into the equally huge ones of Jacquemus and Bottega Veneta, just to mention a few.

TBS: What are your future dreams and projects? Will you go on with The Big Bag Club?

THE BIG BAG CLUB: I’ve always had too many new ideas on my mind. Sometimes I must note them on my notebook because I’m afraid of forgetting something. For sure I want to go on following this graphic path and surrounded by artistic personalities. This is just the starting point.
