The debut of the artist Aya Nakamura with the first album “Journal Intime” dates back to 2017, preparing to overturn the world rankings shortly thereafter. Extracted from the album “Nakamura“, Djadja is the most popular French hit of the last two years. The unmistakable mix of R&B, afrobeat and pop sounds of the single, earned Aya more than a billion worldwide streams in a short time, undoubtedly classifying her as the revelation artist on the international scene. “Oh Djadja” has attracted the attention of some of the biggest names in the world music scene, making artists like Madonna, Sam Smith, Anitta, Neymar Jr and the entire cast of Elite, in which Djadja was an integral part of the soundtrack, dance. As happens with the big hits, Djadja also flew overseas reaching the ears of one of the undisputed kings of Latin music, Maluma, who liked it so much that she offered Aya Nakamura a remix that kept her at the top of the charts for all last year. A success, that of Djadja, which also attracted the attention of some of the most followed Italian artists, Capoplaza, who gave birth with her to Pookie, now 3 times platinum. Aya Nakamura certainly did not stop, in February 2020 she released the album Aya, recording the absolute record of streaming already in the first week of release. Pseudonym of Aya Danioko, Aya Nakamura is a Malian singer who grew up in France. Born into a family of griots (the storytellers of West African tradition), Aya is the first of five siblings. She grew up with her family in the Parisian suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois and her artist name is based on the character Hiro Nakamura from the Heroes series. As usual among emerging artists, Aya’s career began on her social media, posting her first track, Karma, on her Facebook profile in 2014. Immediately noticed by Warner, Aya’s career from 2017 onwards is studded with successes becoming not only a musical phenomenon but also viral in all respects, in particular with the new single Copines, that has just been launched and already become a TikTok fav. In less than 3 years the awards received by Aya Nakamura are many: she wins the MTV Europe Music Award as “Best French Act”, the NRJ Music Award with Pookie, the All Africa Music Award, In 2019 at the French Music Awards she wins the best album of the year award to conclude in 2020 with the victory of Los 40 Awards 2020 as best international artist.
