Shoe trend Spring-Summer 2016: babouche-slippers

BABBUCCE-COVERYou all know the movie sequence we mean: Carrie, shopping in the market in Abu Dhabi, throws a bunch of colorful babouche-slippers into her bag, and forgets her passport at the stall. The rest is history — Aidan, dinner at La Mamounia and all — but what really matters here, for us fashionistas, is what she put in her bag: her shoes. As any self-respecting shoe-aholic would, Carrie anticipated one of Spring Summer 2016’s most interesting shoe trends, that is, Oriental-style slippers landing onto our shoe racks. Everyone from Céline to Acne, as well as low-cost brands, are embracing this trend. These slippers, either in the original style, or in redesigned models that make them more urban, are becoming must-haves right now. So, now is the time to book your trip to Morocco, or somewhere else in that part of the world.. And should that sadly not be an option for you, at least you could go shopping. Have a look at our gallery to see which models we loved best: the desert (and your new slippers) are just a click away!
