With the arrival of a new season, grows the need for shopping and a question needs to be asked: What are the strongest trends? This Fall Winter 2015-2016 the answer is not so easy. The catwalks, in fact, presented us a myriad of inspirations ranging from different times and materials to fabrics, leaving us with very few strong guidelines, except for a few must-have pieces to be interpreted according to one’s tastes and attitudes.
Silhouettes. Although the Seventies maintain their role of protagonists, there is also a strong influence of the fantastic Sixties and Eighties, all while nodding to the Victorian Age. So, let’s not worry about the length of our skirts (mini-midi or maxi, it doesn’t matter; they’re all super cool) or how our trousers fit – the lovers of skinny jeans can relax, second skin denim are still a trend, even though the leg tends to be increasingly wide, both cropped at the ankle and palazzo- let’s focus instead on the materials, which really make the difference.
Fabrics. If the Seventies give us the suède that becomes the main character, alongside comes a lot of fur, wool, velvet, brocade and lace in any variation. Our suggestion is mixing them to create unprecedented combinations and have a little fun.
Colors. We hear it every season, but this time it’s actually true. Black is back. And, together with its polar opposite, white, it makes the coolest couple of the season, both in monochromatic total looks and in the more traditional bicolour. Fall Winter 2015-2016 is not at all, however, a dull season: red, all pastel colours – pink, light blue, lilac – yellow, orange and green are just some of the shades that will brighten up our winter wardrobe.
Details. They are what makes the difference! Tie a scarf around your neck making a bow, add a maxi belt to your basic dress, replace the buttons of last season’s coat with those found at a flea market or in a haberdashery…you’ll see…it will be cooler than when you bought it! Search for vintage brooches in your grandma’s jewelry box and, while you’re there, get some gloves too. They’re a must-have accessory for this season! Last word of advice: if you have a less-than-perfect eyesight, leave your contact lenses at home and go for bold frames. The chicest woman of the season seduces with her intelligence, surely not with her plunging neckline.
