Tulle is a — rather sheer — trend for Autumn Winter 2016-2017. We’ve seen it on the catwalk in many versions going from Gucci and Moschino‘s gloves, to the details it’s used for by Marc Jacobs, N°21 and Simone Rocha, who create very special tank tops and insets, embellished by embroideries, popping up on coats and shirts. Tulle skirts are the top of the trend, though: they have always been a symbol of grace and femininity, and this season, they come in many different incarnations.
They come in black for Ralph & Russo and Antonio Berardi: dark and flowing, but also short, and decorated with small motifs on the pleats. Blugirl‘s comes in one layer only, and superposed on dresses: it makes us think of a romantic woman, maybe a little absent-minded, definitely a contemporary dreamer. Carolina Herrera‘s tulle skirt comes in multiple aquamarine and antique pink layers, while Viktor & Rolf’s is an explosion of colors.
Carrie Bradshaw, Madonna, Marylin Monroe, but also Rihanna and Grace Kelly, as well as Degas’s ballerinas in the paintings that enchanted whole generations: there are so many tulle skirt lovers, and they are all different from one another. Could this be the right season for you to join their ranks?
